Student Services
The Student Advice and Support Service is seeking a Senior Adviser to provide free, confidential and independent advice to Loughborough University students, prospective students and their parents, in a busy, but varied and interesting environment. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to support the Manager in carrying out technical supervision of casework using a variety of means, and to deputise for the Manager on advice-related and operational matters in their absence.
The successful candidate will have recent and significant experience of working in an advice agency or similar setting, and be used to managing a busy case load. They will have a proactive, analytical, problem-solving and holistic approach to advice and will be able to prioritise and work effectively under pressure in a busy environment.
The successful candidate will be a team player, helping the service to develop proactive initiatives, working to prevent problems that students might experience before they arise and ensuring consistently high standards of advice in all areas of work. The job will include outreach work (on campus), such as workshops, talks and events. There will be occasional evening and weekend work and the post holder will be expected to share this with the other team members. This post is suitable for someone who wants to gain more experience in a supervisory role, and additional training for the right person will be available.
