Doctoral College Officer (Academic Registry)Full-time, Open Ended
We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic team player to support PhD students (Doctoral Researchers) at Loughborough University as they complete their research degrees.
You will be based in the Doctoral College Office (part of the Academic Registry) and will be liaising with Doctoral Researchers, academic schools, professional service sections and external agencies on a daily basis.
You will have supervisory responsibility for a small team of administrative staff, overseeing a broad range of University administrative processes, including admissions, registration, examination and graduation. Co-ordination of excellent customer service to students and colleagues in academic schools is essential and we are looking for an individual with the experience and skills to contribute to the team in this area.You will also play a key role in co-ordinating the broader activities of the Doctoral College, working closely with the Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor for the Doctoral College to organise key meetings and some events.
The successful applicant will possess GCSE grade C or above in both Maths and English together with A Level or equivalent education. Good all-round IT skills, experience of working with and supervising or training a small team within a busy office environment, customer service experience, ability to prioritise own workload and deliver to tight deadlines are also essential requirements.
The post will be mostly based on campus, but with some opportunities for home working, as business needs allow.Candidates must ensure that they address the person specification in their application.
