School of Science
Loughborough University is seeking to appoint an experienced technician in the Chemistry Department of the multi-disciplinary School of Science.
Based in the new state-of-the-art STEMLab facility, the post holder will primarily provide technical support to staff and students in the chemistry/bioscience teaching laboratories.
Supervised duties will include: preparation of chemicals and materials for practical laboratories according to timetabled sessions, provide technical support for students during laboratory sessions, routine cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment and implementation of laboratory Health and Safety procedures. This role would suit someone with a scientific background, ideally chemistry or bioscience related, and knowledge of relevant Health and Safety regulations and practices.
The successful candidate should be a highly motivated individual with good practical and communication skills who works well as part of a team.
