School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering:
We are currently recruiting for Senior Lecturers to join the Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering.
The home of world-leading engineering, we have an international reputation for being at the forefront of technological innovation and for maintaining extensive links with and making significant impacts in industry. The Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering is also one of the largest engineering schools of its kind in the UK. We aim to provide international leadership in research and innovation and an unrivalled educational experience.
The vision for our research is to provide world-leading engineering solutions to today’s global challenges. Research grants, principally from the UK Research Councils and the EU, and extensive industrial collaborations generate more than £14million annual research funds and provides a portfolio at present of more than £52million. In the REF2021 exercise 100% of research impact was rated ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent.
In addition to two prestigious Queen’s Anniversary Prizes for our research, we are currently home to a number of national centres, in Regenerative Medicine, Power Trains and Control, The Sports Technology Institute, which contributes to our institution’s QS world No. 1 ranking in sports subjects, the Intelligent Automation and the Centre for Renewable Energy Systems Technology (CREST), which has a world-leading reputation for research across a spectrum of renewable energy technologies. We are also host to EPSRC CDTs and partners in many others.
Successful candidates will have a record of academic excellence which is contributing to the furtherance of knowledge in their discipline and which is recognised by a growing international reputation. Candidates must also have a PhD or equivalent experience and be able to demonstrate a clear trajectory towards achievement at a higher academic level. We are also seeking applications from people who can work across discipline boundaries to bring research ideas together.
