Accommodation and Catering Arrangements
Free accommodation is available during term time. The accommodation available is only suitable for a single person.
Duties
Subwardens assist the Warden in the day to day running of the hall. This may involve pastoral, disciplinary and administrative duties as well as being involved in social aspects of hall life. The successful applicant will be part of a team which provides out-of-hours emergency cover in a hall of 480 students and which helps to ensure the smooth running of the hall.
Personal Attributes
Candidates must display a high level of personal organisational ability, good administrative ability, leadership qualities and be a good team player. Subwardens are expected to demonstrate a commitment to the community spirit of the Hall.
It is very important to find out what you are committing yourself to and to understand what is involved. All applicants are required to find out more about the hall community as it forms an integral part of the selection process. The successful applicant must be available to attend Sub Warden training sessions in September.

Applicants should not submit a standard University application form. Please submit The Office of Voluntary Subwardenship Application form (available here) together with an accompanying letter outlining suitability for the post. These are then to be sent directly to the Warden with an accompanying letter and two written references (PhD Supervisors, Director of Studies/ Line Manager, Head of Section). Completed application forms are to be submitted to the warden by email by 30 June 2017
