This role will lead on the development and delivery of the Pre-sessional Orientation (supporting the Pre-sessional Programmes) including management of the Student Support team order to ensure the provision of appropriate pastoral support for all pre-sessional students. The role will also work proactively with relevant colleagues across the institution to enhance support for international student induction, transition, engagement and overall experience. In addition, the postholder will be required to develop and deliver some English language support.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills with a high level of intercultural awareness in order to support international students’ adaptation to a UK university and in collaboration with relevant colleagues.
You should be a graduate with substantial experience of providing support for international students, preferably within an HE context as well as having significant experience of planning, coordinating and delivering events and/or projects. You will also hold an English language teaching qualification and have experience of teaching English to speakers of other languages. You must be fluent in English, both written and oral, and have excellent IT skills.
