School of Design and Creative Arts:
We are currently recruiting for Lecturers to join the School within the areas of Human Factors/Ergonomic Design and Fine Art.
The School of Design and Creative Arts at Loughborough is one of the premier schools in the UK and has a strong international reputation.
The School was formed in 2020, bringing together broad expertise across a multitude of art and design disciplines. We are proud to be ranked 1st for Fashion and Textiles (The Guardian University Guide 2024), 2nd in the UK for Art and Design (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023.) We also rank 32nd in the World for Art and Design (QS World Rankings by Subject 2023.)
Academic research is of a high standard and informs our teaching across programmes. Our approach confronts and challenges technical possibilities, whilst provoking debate and discussion. A unique blend of creativity, ethics and rigor for real-world benefit sits at the heart of who we are, as we strive to create experiences and interactions that benefit people, society, culture, the economy, and the environment, across teaching, research, and enterprise initiatives.
In our research we work closely together with international and local research partners on a wealth of topics, such as: transport safety, environmental ergonomics, experience design, cultural heritage, sustainable textiles, sculpture, drawing, additive manufacturing, and storytelling. The school has excellent facilities for both research and teaching. We have a particular focus on responsible design as well as on wellbeing. Successful candidates will have a record of academic excellence which is contributing to the furtherance of knowledge in their discipline. Candidates must also have a PhD or equivalent experience and be able to demonstrate a clear trajectory towards achievement at a higher academic level.
