School of Science - Department of Computer Science
Two Positions Available
The Department of Computer Science is part of the School of Science at Loughborough. The Department is looking to extend its staff complement and this recruitment is a part of that extension.
Candidates will possess a first degree and PhD in Computer Science (or equivalent), have an emerging research track record and the potential to attract external funding. They will initiate and participate in collaborative activity with School members, across the University, nationally and internationally.
The successful candidate will have research synergies with existing research themes in the Department:
Theoretical Computer Science
Vision, AI, Autonomous and Human-Centred Systems
Networks and Systems
Applications from candidates with a background in Software Engineering are also encouraged.
In collaboration with existing staff members they will contribute to the learning and teaching of computer science. Loughborough has an excellent reputation for the student experience, its graduates are of the highest quality and employability, and all staff contribute towards their success. The Department takes around 200 new UG and PGT students per year. The successful candidate will join 22 research-active teaching staff and 4 university teachers (with another being recruited in a separate campaign)
