Fixed-Term for 18 Months
An ambitious postdoctoral Research Associate is being sought to work on the development of a sustainable approach to polymer food packaging. As part of a larger multidisciplinary project, the researcher will develop a novel approach for assessing the suitability of packaging for direct reuse within the food manufacturing and retail industry. Specifically, the project will develop an ultraviolet fluorescence imaging technique to determine the presence of residual food fouling on complex packaging forms.
A PhD in a relevant engineering field (or equivalent experience) with relevant experience in experimental design and a practical knowledge of image processing is essential as are excellent communication skills and an ability to write technical reports. Experience of working in or with the food manufacturing industry would be advantageous.
