Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering
The home of world leading engineering, we have an international reputation for being at the forefront of technological innovation and for maintaining extensive links with industry. The School is one of the largest engineering schools of its kind in the UK.
We are looking for candidates as Teaching Fellows to join the School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering, particularly in the following areas:
- Manufacturing Engineering: To support teaching of manufacturing planning and control, supply chain management, lean manufacture, agile manufacture, production and process improvement, incorporating the digital transformation, automation and robotics. Experience with CAD/CAM will be an advantage.
- Mechanical Engineering: To support core engineering science and mathematics subjects including from the following: thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mechanics of materials, heat transfer, statics and dynamics, control. To support teaching in decarbonised propulsion and digital engineering. Experience with CAD/CAM will be an advantage.
- Engineering Manufacturing: To teach essential project management skills and knowledge across our complete range of engineering programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Covering soft skills, company organisation, financial and management accounting, digital project management tools, project control, industrial legislation, quality management systems, risk management, supply chains, and logistics. Knowledge of Systems Engineering and sustainability will be an advantage.
The School wishes to recruit full time Teaching Fellows with direct academic, professional and vocational experience to contribute to, develop and enhance the structure and development of the School's highly regarded taught programmes and enterprise activities. The post holders will provide teaching, administrative and mentoring support and will work closely with Academic and Technical staff in developing high quality pedagogic approaches to facilitate the taught programmes and to ensure outcomes of a high standard.
