Lecturer in Cultural Sociology
School of Social, Political and Geographical Sciences
Loughborough University is seeking to appoint an outstanding academic to build upon our world-leading reputation for research in communication, media and cultural analysis. The appointee will become a member of the Centre for Research in Communication and Culture, which connects colleagues from across the school. They will have intellectually challenging research agenda in any area of cultural sociology and a commitment to innovative research-led teaching.
The successful candidate will join the Sociology group based in the interdisciplinary Department of Social Sciences. They will contribute to the delivery and development of our BSc degree programmes (Sociology; Media, Culture and Society; and Sociology with Criminology) and related Masters programmes (Media and Cultural Analysis, Global Media and Cultural Industries; Digital Media and Society; and Global Political Communication) and, where appropriate, on postgraduate programmes across the School, including the supervision of PhD students.
Candidates should have an emerging track record of outstanding research with impact and the potential to attract external funding. They will initiate and participate in collaborative activity with School members and across the University.
