Centre for Data Science
School of Science
Loughborough University is building an exciting new Centre for Data Science and as part of this is looking to make 11 new academic appointments (2 Professors, 1 Senior Lecturer and 8 Lecturers) in the School of Science to complement existing staff expertise.
We will create a multi-disciplinary team by making appointments in the areas of Applied Mathematics (Mathematical and Computational Modelling), Computer Networks, Artificial Intelligence (Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition), Applied Statistics and mass spectrometry for Personalised Healthcare to work in the Departments of Computer Science, Mathematical Sciences and Chemistry. The appointees are expected to carry out applied research and to collaborate with other Schools and organisations. Applicants also need to demonstrate how they can contribute to the teaching within the School and specifically within the areas of applied mathematics, mathematics for engineers, internet computing (protocol design and security), artificial intelligence, statistics and analytical science/chemistry.
