We are presenting an opportunity to join the department of Chemical Engineering, within the School of Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering as a Lecturer. For more information about the department please visit Chemical Engineering | Loughborough University
The successful candidate will join a dynamic academic team within the department and collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering fields. They will be expected to establish or enhance a strong international research profile, engage with industry partners, and secure research funding.
In addition to contributing to the advancement of research, the successful candidate will be expected to deliver high-quality, research-informed teaching across both undergraduate and postgraduate Chemical Engineering programmes, particularly in core chemical engineering modules, and to supervise research students.
We are seeking applicants with research expertise in or across the following areas:
Circular Economy
We welcome researchers developing innovative technologies and systems that advance sustainability and reduce environmental impact across industrial sectors. Key areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
· Resource recovery and reuse
· Waste valorisation and upcycling
· Sustainable material cycles and closed-loop systems
We are particularly interested in work that supports the transition to a circular economy through interdisciplinary approaches and scalable solutions.
Sustainable Energy
We seek researchers contributing to the global energy transition through pioneering work in clean and renewable energy technologies. Areas of interest include:
· Hydrogen production, storage, and utilisation
· Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS)
· Electrochemical systems
Research that supports Net Zero goals and integrates with broader energy systems is especially encouraged.
Advanced Manufacturing
We are looking for researchers who are shaping the future of manufacturing through sustainable, efficient, and intelligent solutions. Focus areas include:
· Green and sustainable production of chemicals, fuels, and pharmaceuticals
· Process intensification and digital manufacturing
· Integration of AI, automation, and smart technologies in chemical processes
