Electrical Engineer
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a 24 Month Fixed Term Electrical Engineer to join one of the UK’s leading Universities in their Estates & Facilities team. The department is the largest in the University employing over 700 staff and has a budget of £100m.

The Electrical Engineer will work as part of a small electrical team, assisting with the planning and delivery of electrical maintenance, infrastructure and minor works install projects that are required to maintain the electrical assets across the University’s diverse estate portfolio. You will provide excellent customer service to all users of the university to ensure the facilities are fit for use.
Your new role
The role will require you to deliver maintenance and small works install projects (up to £1million) from initial concept through to completion, carrying out; feasibility studies, condition surveys, scope of works, electrical design specifications, AutoCAD drawings, design producing tender documents, procurement, appointing competent external contractors, management of internal / external operatives, budgeting and health & safety / compliance.
There will be a significant focus on LED lighting upgrade projects throughout buildings on campus. You will work very closely with the in house Mechanical department and coordinate where appropriate.
Strong technical skills are essential given the diverse and technically complex range of infrastructure across the estate. Computer literacy on common Microsoft programmes is a must.
The position of the Electrical Engineer forms an integral part of the Facilities Engineering Team here at Loughborough University and we are seeking a customer focused individual who has strong interpersonal skills and is a dedicated team player.
