Student Services – Security Patrol Officer – part time 0.5FTE

We are seeking motivated individuals to join our dynamic security team here on our thriving and energetic campus. Previous security experience is not necessary – a caring attitude is. Our primary aim is the support and welfare of students and staff. All other elements of the role can be learnt, and training will be provided.

Job Purpose
To deploy as a member of the university security function, your main duties will be to provide uniformed patrols on a shift pattern of twelve-hours, starting at 6 pm and ceasing at 6am.
The 5 week shift pattern is as follows:-
Week 1 – working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Week 2 – working Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Week 3 – no duties
Week 4 – no duties
Week 5 – working a 6 hour shift on Wednesday only, hours to be confirmed
Patrols will involve foot, cycle, and use of vehicles, responding to incidents on university property, and will include responsibilities away from the University site either involving students or as part of other contracted security responsibilities.
Safety of the staff and students is our priority, in addition to ensuring the safety and welfare of all people connected with or visiting the University, the protection of university property and the regulation of vehicle movement on and around the University site.
