Enterprise Office
Loughborough University is looking to recruit a committed and motivated professional to provide robust and creative legal advice and support to the University's Enterprise, Research and Teaching activities.
The University has exceptional links with industry in support of its activities, from supporting student project modules to complex collaboration agreements on research or enterprise activities. We work closely with other Universities in the UK and abroad, in particular the Midlands Innovation Universities.
As part of the Contracts Team within the Enterprise Office at our Loughborough campus, you will work collaboratively with colleagues within the Enterprise and Research Offices, as well as operational and academic staff across the University's Loughborough and London campuses. As someone experienced in negotiating, drafting and advising on contracts with private, public and third sector bodies, with a strong understanding of intellectual property law, you will bring a demonstrable ability to focus on client outcomes. Providing a high level of client care, you will enjoy a diverse range of quality work supporting cutting edge research and commercialisation. Negotiating with some of the world's largest companies, you will robustly and creatively protect the University's position, ensuring academic freedoms are upheld and opportunities to commercialise University intellectual property are secured, in the context of the University's Royal Charter and charitable status. Your strong interpersonal skills will make you an ambassador for not just the Enterprise Office, but the University itself.
Applicants should have as a minimum an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in law or equivalent experience. Applications from Solicitors, Barristers or Fellows of CILEx with relevant experience are encouraged.
