School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences
Full-time (37 hours per week); Open-ended contract
Hybrid role, subject to teaching timetable
We are seeking to appoint a University Teacher in Sport Coaching and Pedagogy to contribute to high-quality teaching and student support across our undergraduate and postgraduate provision. You will play an important role in delivering excellent learning experiences in sport coaching and coach development, supporting curriculum design, assessment, and inclusive teaching practices.
You will contribute to modules aligned with sport coaching, pedagogy, coach learning and development, and professional practice. The postholder will also support academic tutoring, placement/employability activity, and partnership working with sport organisations where appropriate. This is an education-focused position and is well suited to candidates who are passionate about developing future coaches and practitioners through engaging, evidence-informed teaching.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD (or be close to completion) in sport coaching or a closely related discipline, and a clear track record of delivering high-quality teaching in Higher Education and/or professional learning environments. They will demonstrate a strong understanding of contemporary coaching practice and coach development, with the ability to design inclusive, engaging learning activities and assessments that support student progression and employability. They will bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to student support and effective feedback, and the collaborative approach needed to contribute positively to programme delivery and continuous enhancement.
This full-time post is offered on an open-ended contract.
