We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the area of mathematical physics to join the Geometry and Mathematical Physics group of the Department of Mathematical Sciences. You will work under the direction of Dr Mats Vermeeren on an EPSRC-funded project “Lagrangian Multiforms for Symmetries and Integrability: Classification, Geometry, and Applications”.
Lagrangian multiform theory is a new type of variational principle that originated in the study of classical integrable systems. You will work on parts of the EPSRC-funded project that aim to extend the ideas of Lagrangian multiform theory beyond the scope of integrable systems and to make connections with other areas of modern mathematical physics.
